• Lorain County Leviathan FC Rises from the Depths to Join USL League Two (sportslogos.net) — A new USL League Two soccer team, Lorain County Leviathan FC, is launching in 2026 with branding that prominently features the Lorain Lighthouse and Lake Erie. Community members chose the Leviathan name over three other Lorain County-themed finalists, and the club will play home matches at ForeFront Field in Avon. Fans can already see the crest and buy kid-friendly merchandise. 
• State Rep. Gayle Manning praises investment in educational and workforce opportunities for youth in Lorain County (cleveland.com) — Youth in Lorain County are expected to benefit from more than $13.4 million in redirected federal welfare funds that Ohio is investing in family services and workforce development. State Rep. Gayle Manning says the money will support local programs like Boys & Girls Clubs, Catholic Charities, and Providence House to expand career pathways, mentoring, and crisis intervention for families.
• He's barely old enough to vote. Now he may be the youngest trustee in Lorain County history (news5cleveland.com) — A 19-year-old Columbia Township resident is set to become what many believe is the youngest trustee in Lorain County history after winning a nonpartisan race this November. As the township’s population surges, he plans to balance college with part-time trustee duties, bringing a younger perspective to growth, services, and long-term planning for local families.
