• Champaign County launches countywide ‘Stop the Bleed' initiative (peakofohio.com) — A new countywide “Stop the Bleed” program will equip every law enforcement officer in Champaign County, including Mechanicsburg Ohio Police Department, with standardized bleeding-control kits and training starting in early January 2026. Dispatchers, EMS staff, and county leaders will also receive education, and officials hope to expand this lifesaving training to schools, businesses, farms, and youth groups across the rural area.

• WL-S, M'burg earn wins in boys hoops (urbanacitizen.com) — Mechanicsburg’s boys basketball team stayed perfect by knocking off Greeneview, 55-40, at home, leading 25-20 at halftime. • Early-Morning Fire Destroys Outbuilding in Salem Township (peakofohio.com) — Mechanicsburg Fire crews were called in for mutual aid after an early-morning blaze destroyed an outbuilding on West State Route 296 in Salem Township. Urbana firefighters fought intense flames and a partial collapse defensively for about two hours, and no injuries were reported while investigators continue to determine the cause and assess damage.
