Armed Man Accused of Stealing From Mentor Department Store
Robert E. Young II faces a charge of robbery

A man from Cleveland faces a charge of robbery after he stole from a Mentor department store Wednesday while carrying a loaded handgun, according to the Mentor Police Facebook page.
Robert E. Young II, 22, was spotted stealing two pairs of earrings from and trying to leave the store, police said.
When he was detained, authorities found he was carrying a loaded .40-caliber handgun, police said.

Young does have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Judge John Trebets arraigned Young on a charge of robbery Thursday morning in Mentor Municipal Court.

Trebets set Young's bond at $50,000, which has not been posted.
Young's next court hearing is scheduled for March 1.
If convicted of robbery, Young could face from two to eight years in prison.
