City Believes Luigi's Pizza Has Closed

The phone line has been disconnected and no activity appears to be going on there

Take a drive by Luigi's Pizza & Beverage Drive-Thru and you'll see an unlit structure with no apparent activity going on there.

Though they haven't received word from owners, city officials believe the business at Reynolds Road and Lake Shore Boulevard has closed its doors.

Calls to the business result in an operator's message stating that the line has been disconnected. Also, the link to the company's Facebook page now just takes you to Facebook.com.

With all indications pointing to a closure, Mentor economic development director Ron Traub said some businesses simply can't cut it in what is still a difficult climate for operations.

"The retail market is a dynamic one and there are significant businesses, such as Potpourri (Fondue) and Frank and Pauly's that have closed recently," Traub said, "Now, there are also less-well-known and neighborhood establishments like Luigi's closing."
