Nick Magyar, a sophomore at , is playing hockey in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria.

According to Nick-Olympics 2012, Magyar landed in Innsbruck today and Team USA's first game against Austria is Saturday. USA is also scheduled to have tournament matches against Canada, Russia and Finland before the semifinals and medal rounds.

The tournament ends on Jan. 22.
Magyar plays for the Cleveland Barons Midget Minor team and was the only Ohioan selected for the Olympic team, according to Cleveland.com.

Joelle Magyar, Nick's mother, told WKYC that her son has played overseas before but this tournament is special.
"We've travelled overseas before to play hockey, but this is the Olympics and it's just so amazing," she said, according to WKYC.
