The girls basketball team have advanced to the regional championship, where they will play against the defending Division II champion Hathaway Brown Friday.
Hathway Brown knocked the Cougars out of the playoffs last year.

To get there, Lake Catholic beat Rocky River 42-30 Tuesday.
Lake Catholic Delani Stopp senior was the game's top scorer with 19 points. Cougars Erin Mog and Mel Goosby scored nine and seven points, respectively, also.

After a rocky beginning to their season, a young Cardinals put together a 6-game win streak that carried them through the district.
