Market Street Restaurant to Open This Summer

Market Street Family Restaurant hopes to open an eatery in Mentor by late July.

That's what representatives told the city's planning commission after it granted the restaurant's ownership and construction the right to re-image the old Branding Iron Cookhouse, administrator Ric Spence said. The building at 8450 Market Street has been vacant since Branding Iron closed in August.

Plans show that the restaurant will seat 75 patrons.

Scott Williams Contractors and restaurant owner Tony Attia will add windows, skylights and screening for the rooftop HVAC units. The exterior will also be repainted.

Inside, the business will add new tile flooring, appliances and sinks.

The 4,360-square-foot building was constructed in 1974.

Attia also operates the Perry Family Restaurant in Perry. He has declined to discuss his Mentor restaurant thus far.
