Mentor Man Dies After He Was Struck By Car
William Ewing died after he was hit by a car outside of his home

A Mentor man died after he was struck by a car outside of his home in the 5800 block of Heisley Road Wednesday morning.
William Ewing, 76, had walked outside of his home at about 7 a.m. He was hit by a 2004 Toyota Camry that was traveling in the curb lane, Mentor Police Sgt. Dan Molnar said.
He was walking in the street at the time of the crash, according to what Molnar told The News-Herald.

Ewing suffered injuries to his head and vertebrae during the crash, Mentor Fire Lt. Ron Zak said. Paramedics took him to Hillcrest Hospital where he later died.
The Toyota was driven by a 49-year-old Mentor woman, whose name has not been released.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
