Mentor Police to Adopt 'Click It Or Ticket'
Police will give tickets — not warnings — for those not wearing seatbelts

If you are caught not wearing a seatbelt in the next two weeks, don't expect to get off with a warning.
The Mentor Police Department has announced that it will adopt the national "Click It Or Ticket" campaign during traffic stops between Monday and June 2.
"Local motorists can expect to receive tickets, not warnings, if officers find them out on the road unbuckled," Mentor Police Lt. Dan Molnar wrote in a news release.

Molnar vowed that police would be out "in force" on these dates, both day and night. According to Mentor Municipal Court, the waiver amounts for no-seatbelt violations are $110 and $100 for drivers and passengers, respectively.
"Seatbelts help save lives. Spread the word to friends and family to buckle up," Molnar said.
