Mentor Woman Accused Of Trying To Stab Her Boyfriend

Daniela Hilditch is charged with felonious assault and domestic violence

A Mentor woman was arraigned on felonious assault and domestic violence charges Wednesday in Mentor Municipal Court.

Daniela Hilditch, 25, is accused of trying to stab her boyfriend on Dec. 21, Mentor Police Lt. Tim Allen said.

On that evening, Hilditch was arguing with her boyfriend and roommate in a home on Edgewood Drive in Mentor.

During the argument, Hilditch grabbed a long kitchen knife and repeatedly tried to cut her boyfriend, Allen said. However, he was able to get away unscathed.

He went to the police department to report the attack.

In the mean time, Hilditch took a limo that was owned by the person who owned the Edgewood home -- who is a different person than the boyfriend and roommate -- and crashed it, Allen said.

Hilditch then walked away from the crash.

When she returned to the house, police arrested her on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence. The domestic violence charge is a felony, as opposed to a misdemeanor, because of Hilditch's previous convictions, Allen said.

Hilditch was convicted of attempted domestic violence in September in Mentor Municipal Court.
