Moms Talk: A Holiday Jam Session

Each week the Mentor Patch Moms Council answers a question on parenthood posed to them by readers or another member of council.

This week's question is a continuation of last week's theme -- favorite holiday TV specials. However, this time, I'm asking for your favorite Christmas songs. (I'm a sucker for "Sleigh Ride" and "Ain't No Chimneys In The Projects.")

Renee Ochaya:

I enjoy all the festive holiday songs, but my all-time favorite song to remind of the meaning of the season is "Silent Night."

Donna Milnes:

I love all of the traditional Holiday songs but “Go Tell It on the Mountain” is a favorite of mine because it tells the story of Christ being born and has an easy melody so that everyone can sing along.

Of course, we love to sing “Jingle Bells” and “Up on the House Top” when driving around with the kids looking at the holiday lights.

Mary Jo Stack:

Love almost every Christmas song but I think my favorite would be "The Carol of the Bells."

Kimberly Jones:

I love almost all Christmas songs, but my all-time favorite would have to be "Silent Night" and "Rudolph the Red-Noses Reindeer."

Melanie Majikas:

I'm partial to very old versions of Christmas songs -- choirs singing traditional carols, etc. Not such a fan of modern Christmas music, though I love TransSiberian Orchestra's "Carol of the Bells."

Jill Korsok:

My favorite traditional Christmas song is "The Hallelujah Chorus." Otherwise, I love "Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses.

Devone Lansing:

I love the songs "It Wasn't His Child" by Skip Ewing and "Breath of Heaven" by Amy Grant. I also love the whole Elvis Christmas album, especially "Santa Claus is Back in Town."

Gloria Kilfoyle:

This is the season when everyone sings to me, so I have to say that any song with GLORIA in it is my favorite carol.
