Moms Talk: When Kids Lie

Each week the Mentor Patch Moms Council answers a question on parenthood posed to them by readers or another member of council.

This week's question: My son has started lying and I can't get him to stop. He lies about stuff that doesn't even matter (and some things that do.) What can I do?

It really depends on the age of the child. Young children often have trouble distinguishing between reality and their imaginations.

Older children may lie for many reasons.
