After neighbors escalated complaints to the state, county crews installed odor scrubbers, boosted chemical treatment, and began intensive monitoring while officials probe possible industrial wastewater links upstream.
   

2. Man indicted for murder in Painesville restaurant shooting (wkyc.com) — A Mentor resident, 52-year-old Thorsten “Bo” Martin, was fatally shot outside the Johnny Gringo restaurant in downtown Painesville after an argument turned physical, and a suspect has now been indicted. Authorities say bystanders disarmed and held the alleged shooter until police arrived, but Martin later died at a local hospital, and the case is moving forward in Lake County court.
