Police: Man Charged With Assault After Cutting Wife
Man is accused of choking wife, throwing her to ground and cutting her hand with a knife early Friday morning

A Mentor man is accused of attacking his wife and cutting her with a knife in the early morning hours Friday.
Robert Jeschelnig, 23, was arraigned Monday morning in on a charge of felonious assault.
Police were called to the apartment that Jeschelnig shares with his wife at .

Police do not know what caused the argument. However, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said Jeschelnig is accused of choking his wife and throwing her to the floor, in addition to cutting her hand.
The wife was taken to Lake West Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Jeschelnig was found and arrested in a wooded area behind the apartment complex.
Judge John Trebets set Jeschelnig's bond at $50,000, which was not posted. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday
If convicted of felonious assault, Jeschelnig could face between two and eight years in prison.
