Video: Randall Woodley Testifies During His Abduction Trial

Woodley claims that boys lied and one asked him to buy drugs

Either Randall Woodley or the two brothers he is accused of abducting are lying in court.

The two brothers -- ages 18 and 12 -- told jurors that Woodley intimidated them into driving him from the in Mentor to a bar in the Collinwood neighborhood in Cleveland on Dec. 27, 2010.

They said he scared them by flashing a handgun, telling them he had mafia connections and showing them the tattoos he got while in prison. After they drove him to the bar, Woodley warned the brothers that he could find them and showed them he had the older brother's number in his phone, they testified.

"I'll beat their brains in if they try to hurt you," Woodley testified that he told them.

Additionally, Woodley said the reason he had the older brother's phone number is because he gave it to him.

"He asked me if I could find him any smoke," Woodley said.

Lake County Assistant Prosecutor Mark Bartolotta asked Woodley why the boys would text messages to their mom saying something had happened and they were "afraid he put something in the car so he could hear us" if he never tried to intimidate them.

"It doesn't make sense, does it?" Bartolotta asked.

"None of this does," Woodley replied.

Woodley faces four counts of abduction and a charge each of carrying a concealed weapon and having a weapon under a disability. If convicted of all charges he could face up to 26 1/2 years in prison.
