Thursday Is Final Day To Trade Food For Fines At Library
Patrons can donate canned goods and be forgiven for up to $5 in fines

Today is the final day in which patrons can donate food in exchange for having their fines forgiven.
If patrons bring a canned food item to any of the library's branches, they can be forgiven for up to $5 in fines.
The food will, in turn, be donated to local pantries. The "food for fines" deal only works once; so, if you've already donated once, you cannot have your fines expunged a second time.

(However, that doesn't mean you can't give food anyhow.)
Additionally, the library and all of its branches will be closed from Friday through Monday with normal hours resuming Tuesday.

The library will also close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and remain closed until Jan. 3 in observance of New Years Day.
