Two Accused of Robbing Man at Mentor Hotel

Dawn Bonilla is accused of stealing a man's laptop computers and Jason Svagerko is accused of punching the victim when he tried to take the computers back

Two Cleveland residents are accused of robbing a man Wednesday night at a Mentor hotel.

According to Mentor Police Sgt. Michael Kloski, the man invited 29-year-old Dawn Bonilla to join him at the Residence Inn.

However, when the man went to take a shower, Bonilla tried to steal two of his laptop computers, Kloski said.

The man attempted to stop Bonilla and, during the ensuing struggle, Bonilla was joined by her boyfriend, 33-year-old Jason Svagerko.

Svagerko then repeatedly punched the man, Kloski said.

The Mentor Police were called and they arrested Bonilla and Svagerko.

Bonilla has been charged with robbery; Svagerko with complicity to robbery.

Both were arraigned Thursday in Mentor Municipal Court. Judge John Trebets set Svagerko's bond at $150,000 and Bonilla's at $100,000.

Neither posted.

Their next court hearing is scheduled for April 4.
