The update comes alongside new data on job-hunting trends and a report underscoring manufacturing’s major role in Ohio’s economy.

2. Hubbard council president questions pot funds (tribtoday.com) — Niles officials expect to start receiving marijuana tax revenue in 2026 after Senate Bill 56 secures a 10% excise tax and directs a share to cities hosting dispensaries. Mayor Steven Mientkiewicz says the new funds could support roads, parks, and other services, reducing the need to ask voters for future tax hikes. Hubbard leaders are facing similar delays and uncertainty over their promised share.
