The season-ending banquet in nearby Fremont also highlighted champions in all divisions and teased big 75th-anniversary races and new sponsorships coming to the track in 2026, keeping local racing fans busy close to home.

• Winter Sports Calendar 12-11-25 (thebeacon.net) — Oak Harbor athletes have a busy stretch ahead, with basketball, swimming, and wrestling contests scheduled from Thursday through next Tuesday against schools like Lake, Genoa, Margaretta, and Bowling Green/Anthony Wayne. Local fans can plan now to support Rockets teams at home and on the road, including a girls’ home game versus Maumee and a multi-team swim meet.
   

• Lonnie C. Bledsoe – June 5, 1951-December 6, 2025 (thebeacon.net) — Oak Harbor readers are connected to this loss through Lonnie C. Bledsoe Sr.’s daughter, Christina, who lives in Oak Harbor, and his long ties to nearby Port Clinton and Gypsum. The 74-year-old U.S. Gypsum retiree loved fishing the bay, NASCAR, and cheering on the Guardians and 49ers. Cremation has taken place and the family suggests memorial contributions directly to them.
