• Boxes abound in Oakwood: Cardboard recycling increase a gift to city coffers (daytondailynews.com) — Oakwood’s cardboard recycling bins are overflowing this holiday season, and that’s turning into real revenue for the city, with more than $14,500 earned so far in 2025. City Manager Katie Smiddy says increased cardboard recycling both cuts landfill costs and supports sustainability, while contractor Rumpke urges residents to flatten boxes, remove plastic, and trim greasy spots before dropping them at the Shafor Boulevard center.
