• Parma Heights SWAT standoff ends, man taken into custody (cleveland19.com) — A SWAT standoff in nearby Parma Heights ended Tuesday with a man taken into custody, prompting road closures on West Ridgewood Drive and safety alerts to surrounding residents. Parma police assisted, and Parma City School District coordinated with law enforcement, briefly locking down Valley Forge High School and other schools before resuming normal dismissal with some delays.
   

• Reflecting on 2025, Parma mayor touts citywide accomplishments (cleveland.com) — Major investments in Parma this year include the new $12.3 million Ridgewood Golf Course Event Center and two large stormwater basins aimed at reducing neighborhood flooding. Mayor Tim DeGeeter also highlights millions in street repairs, GM’s $250 million commitment, and a strong city fund balance as signs Parma is gaining momentum heading into 2026.
   

• Carolyn Griggs, 83 (marshallcountydaily.com) — Strongsville residents are mourning 83-year-old Carolyn Griggs, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose faith community included Pleasant Valley Church in Parma. Remembered for her deep love of family and second career as a friendly cosmetologist, she leaves a large extended family and many friends. Services will be held this weekend in Benton, Kentucky.
