Port Clinton schools recognize Julie Young Walker for generosity (portclintonnewsherald.com) — Port Clinton residents can celebrate local supporter Julie Young Walker, who was honored with the district’s Flagship Crew Award for quietly helping middle and high school students. Each year she covers costs for 8th graders’ Cedar Point trip and donates essentials like supplies, clothing, and toiletries to Port Clinton High School, reflecting the school district’s “Proudly Charting a Course for Success” motto.
   

2. Hard work and generosity bring stained glass windows to Lakeview Cemetery mausoleum (thebeacon.net) — Port Clinton residents now see hand-crafted stained glass brightening the Lakeview Cemetery mausoleum, thanks to local artist Ben Kendall and the Port Clinton Friends of the Cemetery. The volunteer group has spent nearly two decades improving Lakeview and Riverview cemeteries and is urgently seeking more local helpers to continue beautifying roads, fencing, flowers, and grave sites.
   

3. Woodmore RB Landon Rich earns Division VI All-Ohio football honors (portclintonnewsherald.com) — Port Clinton football fans can celebrate senior wide receiver Gavin Cornell earning second-team All-Ohio honors and lineman Caleb Spencer making third-team in Division VI. The statewide list also spotlights nearby standouts, including Woodmore’s first-team running back Landon Rich and several other Sandusky Bay-area players recognized for their regular-season performances.
   

4. Northwest Ohio restaurants win state awards, including Lifetime Achievement for local eatery (wtol.com) — Port Clinton diners have something to cheer about as Orchard Catawba Island was voted Northwest Ohio’s Restaurant of the Year by the Ohio Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance. The statewide awards also honored a longtime Toledo restaurateur, a local culinary student, and standout chefs from other Ohio towns.
