• Former Rocky River police officer Michael Bernhardt to be sentenced after pleading guilty to illegal OHLEG searches: Watch live at 9 a.m. (wkyc.com) — A former Rocky River police officer and high school resource officer is being sentenced today in Cuyahoga County after pleading guilty to misusing law-enforcement databases over many years, including searches involving Rocky River students and families. Prosecutors say an outside investigation found dozens of improper database lookups with no valid police purpose, and his peace officer certification will be permanently revoked.

Judge Joseph Burke questioned his account, noting no visible puncture wounds, and the case has now been sent to a Cuyahoga County grand jury for further review.
