1. Salem students show off food truck creations (salemnews.net) — Second graders at Salem’s Buckeye Elementary proudly presented their food truck projects to the Salem school board, capping a three‑month lesson in budgeting, marketing and customer service. The meeting also featured parents questioning third‑grade grammar curriculum, a suggestion for an outdoor learning center, recognition of the district’s school resource officer, and numerous staffing approvals and activity appointments affecting Salem City Schools.
   

2. SHSAA awards classroom grants (morningjournalnews.com) — Salem City Schools just received over $11,000 in classroom grants from the Salem High School Alumni Association, helping teachers buy everything from STEM materials to books and art supplies. The association also announced new named grants and first responder and education scholarships, and is inviting the SHS Class of 2026 and alumni to start scholarship applications online later this month.
   

3. Warriors boast All-Ohio pedigree (morningjournalnews.com) — Salem High’s standout quarterback Cletis Monroy earned third-team All-Ohio honors after powering the Quakers’ 7-5 season with nearly 2,700 yards and 39 touchdowns, plus strong defensive play. Fellow Salem senior Matthew Austin also received honorable mention for anchoring an offense that averaged more than 35 points and 372 yards per game, while neighboring West Branch players collected multiple top All-Ohio awards.
   

4. Loans available for drought recovery (farmanddairy.com) — Farmers and small businesses around Salem can now tap federal help after severe drought led USDA to declare Carroll, Columbiana and Jefferson counties primary natural disaster areas. Producers may qualify for Farm Service Agency emergency loans, while nearby small businesses and nonprofits can seek low‑interest SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans to cover working capital and other bills tied to drought losses.
