RTA Uppercut Recipient Pleads Guilty Today in Shaker Court

The passenger charged with disorderly conduct in the RTA uppercut incident that went viral was found guilty after changing her plea Tuesday morning, reports Patch's news partner WEWS News Channel 5.

Shidea Lane, who was involved in an altercation with RTA bus driver Artis Hughes on a Chagrin Boulevard bus in Beachwood last year, changed her plea from not guilty to no contest. The judge found her guilty.

Lane will be sentenced by the city’s probation department on July 2.

The infamous RTA uppercut assault is back in the headlines Tuesday as rider Shidea Lane enters a plea change in Shaker Heights Municipal Court, reports Patch's news partner WEWS New Channel 5.

Lane and Rapid Transit Authority of Greater Cleveland (RTA) driver Artis Hughes exchanged words and jabs back on Sept. 18, 2012 on a bus that was driving in Beachwood.

The infamous fight on the RTA bus was captured on cell phone video.

Lane originally pled not guilty to a disorderly conduct charge but will enter her change of plea at 9 a.m.Hughes was eventually terminated by RTA.
