• DeWine announces millions in grants to support local families, workforce (daytondailynews.com) — Shelby County families stand to benefit from new state-directed federal TANF grants, including support for newborn recovery, pregnancy care, and Ronald McDonald House services. Gov. Mike DeWine announced multi-year funding for nonprofits across southwest Ohio, with several programs explicitly serving eligible residents in Shelby and neighboring counties to bolster family stability, housing, and workforce readiness.
   

• Crystal Studabaker, 42 – WLKM Radio 95.9 FM (wlkm.com) — Shelby is mourning Crystal Nicole Studabaker, 42, who was born and later married in her hometown before moving to Michigan. Remembered for her humor, warmth, and work in caregiving, she is survived by her husband, children including one in Shelby, and extended family. A graveside service in Michigan will be announced later.
