Drunken-Driving Checkpoint Nabs 25 Cars Over the Weekend

Police made six drunken driving arrests among other illegal activity.

Of the 271 cars that went through a drunken-driving checkpoint at Richmond and Cannon Roads on Saturday, 25 were pulled over for legal issues, according to a statement from the Solon Police Department.

The checkpoint starting at 10 p.m. until 3 a.m. yielded the following:

  • 2 drunken driving arrests at the checkpoint
  • 1 drunken driving arrest by detail personnel returning to the station
  • 3 drunken driving arrests by the Ohio State Highway Patrol assigned to the detail
  • 5 driving under Suspension charges
  • 4 drug Paraphernalia charges
  • 3 drug Abuse charges
  • 2 open Container charges
  • 2 arrests for arrest warrants from other agencies
  • 1 charge for a Facsimile Firearm
Solon police teamed up with both the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office with the Cuyahoga County OVI Task Force.
