I-480 Work, Other Construction Could Impact Your Weekend Plans

SOLON, OH — With fall looming, there are plenty of road work projects rushing to finish before colder weather arrives.

The headline grabber this weekend will be the implementation of new traffic patterns along the I-480 bridges, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). However, there are plenty of other projects going on around Cuyahoga County that could impact your weekend plans.

Here are all the projects on Cuyahoga County's east side that could impact your driving, according to ODOT.

As the I-480 bridge replacements project moves into a new phase, here are the upcoming impacts:

• I-480 west to I-77 north and south ramps will be closed Friday at 7 p.m. through Saturday at 6 p.m.
  • Detour is I-480 west to State Rd. to I-480 east to I-77.
• I-480 between I-77 and Transportation Blvd. will have various lane restrictions on Friday, starting at 7 p.m. through Saturday at 6 p.m.
• The Transportation Blvd. entrance ramp to I-480 west will be closed on Friday starting at 7 p.m. and continuing Saturday, at 6 p.m.

Here are other ODOT projects that could impact your weekend driving:

• Traffic signal and median work will lead to lane restriction on U.S. Route 322, Mayfield Road, near the Chagrin River Road intersection in Gates Mills.
• Resurfacing of State Route 175, Richmond Road, could slow traffic in Euclid.
• There will also be intersection projects on Richmond Road at Mayfield Road in Lyndhurst, with daily lane restrictions. Pavement repairs on Richmond, between Meadow Wood and Mayfield Road, in Lyndhurst, will also cause lane restrictions.
• Crews are replacing the Eddy Road bridge deck over I-271 in Willoughby Hills. Eddy will be closed between Bishop Road and SOM Center through late October. Traffic will be detoured along U.S. 6.
