Quick Response Helped Authorities Find Missing 100-Year-Old Woman

A quick response by authorities -- and a considerate neighbor -- helped a Solon woman locate her missing 100-year-old mother, who had wandered away from their home.

The woman, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, wandered away from her daughter's home on Elm Hill Drive on Dec. 28.

Police were able to use its police dog and its Child Abduction Response Team to help, and a nonproft called A Child Is Missing used its resourced to find the woman as well, according to Solon Police.

One tactic used was an automated call that was made to all neighbors within one square mile of the woman's home.

A neighbor on Elm Hill Drive found the missing woman because he searched in his garage after he received the call. He found the woman sitting in his car.

The woman was checked out by paramedics and deemed medically OK. She was treutned to her family.
