Solon School To Be Renamed Joseph V. Regano Early Learning Center
The Solon Board of Education voted to rechristen the district's preschool during a meeting on Monday night.

SOLON, OH — Solon Preschool will be renamed the Joseph V. Regano Early Learning Center, in honor of the district's late superintendent.
The Solon Board of Education approved a resolution to rename the school on Monday night. Regano led the Solon Schools for more than three decades, impacting thousands of Solon and Glenwillow students during his tenure. He died in summer 2020.
“This will be only the third time in the history of the Solon City Schools that the Board of Education has named a school in honor of an individual and no one is more deserving of this prestigious honor than Joe Regano,” said Solon Board of Education President Julie Glavin.

“Joe was a mentor and a dear friend. Above all else, he cared about the children of this district. Getting this space to create a preschool was his dream, his vision,” said current Solon Superintendent Fred Bolden. "Joe was always humble and kept the spotlight on our students. The newly named Joseph V. Regano Early Learning Center sits on a prominent spot along SOM Center Road. We know seeing Joe’s name on this gem in our district will spur wonderful memories for generations of students and their families."
The other two Solon school buildings named for educators are the Grace L. Roxbury
Elementary School and Dorothy E. Lewis Elementary School.
