Teachers' Actions Giving Community a 'Black Eye'

To the editor,

Just an opinion I would like to offer from an embarrassed former student:

I would not be where I am today without the amazing teachers and staff of the Strongsville City School System. I am forever grateful for what they have done for me and all the hard work they have invested in their students. I am sorry for the situation they face with the Board if it truly is as bad as they say, however unions have the tendency to exaggerate these things.

That being said, the picketing that was displayed online and on the news was completely unprofessional and I am disappointed. It is a black eye to the school system and the entire city. These so called "scabs" are filling in to teach the students that the teachers are supposed to care about. They are honest people seeking honest jobs just like the rest of us. You'll get your jobs back. These people might not. A little respect would be what I would expect from such an outstanding group of faculty.
