• Suspect accused in Strongsville bus stop kidnapping attempt ordered to psychiatric treatment (cleveland.com) — A Strongsville resident accused of trying to abduct a 15-year-old girl at a local school bus stop has been ruled incompetent to stand trial and ordered into treatment at a state psychiatric hospital. The case, now paused, will resume only if doctors say he’s regained competency, while state lawmakers debate extending timelines for restoring defendants in more serious cases.

• Ohio Turnpike tolls going up in January: What drivers need to know (cleveland.com) — If you use the Ohio Turnpike, expect tolls to rise starting January 1, though the E-ZPass fare for cars between Strongsville and the Route 8 Akron interchange will stay at $1.25. The biggest increases will hit drivers crossing the entire state, especially trucks and cash customers, even as Ohio’s per-mile rates remain lower than neighboring states.
