Anyone Remember Where the Time Capsules at Allen Elementary Are?

Students buried items somewhere on the grounds 30 years ago

Some 30 years ago, the students at Allen Elementary School put together a few time capsules and buried them somewhere on the school grounds.

One problem: Three decades later, no one can remember quite where.

And with the wrecking ball inching nearer, time is of the essence.

"Once the school is torn down, it'll be too late," said Ward 3 Councilman Jim Carbone, who was among the Allen students to bury the capsules.

Carbone said he had forgotten about the event until a former classmate reminded him. He has put out a call for help and got about 18 emails from former students who think they remember.

"We're trying to pinpoint where they are," Carbone said. "It's a big area."

The former elementary school has been closed for three years and is due to be razed this fall.

Anyone with information can contact Carbone at jim.carbone@strongsville.org.
