'Big Red Water Balloon' Spotted; People Mowing Too Early and Too Late: Police Blotter

A resident thought he saw trouble brewing when he spotted a bunch of teens with a "big red water balloon or something like that" on Wakeford Circle about 10 p.m. April 27, according to a report.
But when police went there, a neighbor said the kids actually had oversized boxing gloves.

They had gone inside a house by then, the report said.

A woman called police about 6:30 p.m. April 26 to say she had been followed by a man in a truck all the way from Middleburg Heights.
Even turning into the Strongsville police station didn't deter him -- he followed along, a report said.
Police questioned the man, who said he just wanted to talk to the woman. She did not want to talk to him, the report said.
Officers told the man that next time, he should find a better way to approach a woman.
Noisy Lawn Care
A Squirrel Hollow resident complained at 9 p.m. April 27 that it was too laate for a neighbor to be cutting his lawn.
The man agreed to stop and said he would finish in the morning.
On April 28, a Pearl Road resident complained about someone mowing at 8 a.m. every Sunday.
The mower said he had been cutting the grass there at 8 a.m. on Sundays for nine years and didn't realize it was a problem. He said he'd wait till 10 a.m. from now on.
Suspicious Person
A passerby reported a man screaming at a telephone pole on Pearl Road about 2:45 p.m. April 27.
Police recognized the shouter as a local man with personal issues who lives on Pearl Road. He was walking home from the store. Â
Vandalism
A Fern Canyon Drive resident woke up April 27 to find someone had dumped a bucket of paint in her driveway.
A report described it as "Smurf blue" paint.
Unusual Burglary
A Gate Post Road woman reported her ex-boyfriend broke into her house and made her leave.
She called police from the driveway about 5 a.m. April 27.
Officers first secured the man's car and had it towed. The ex-boyfriend was arrested about 6 a.m.
