🌱 Cleveland Rape Crisis Center Funding Request + VFW Post Garage Sale

Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:

1. The Cuyahoga County Council will not be approving the requested funding for the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center. The center requested additional funds from the council after experiencing a dramatic increase in children seeking services from the center — a 70 percent increase since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each county council member has $6 million of discretionary spending set aside from the federal American Rescue Plan Act. Instead of funding the center, Councilman Scott Tuma wants to spend $4 million on rebuilding a Parma golf course clubhouse. (cleveland.com)

3. The Strongsville VFW Auxiliary Garage Sale will be held from Jun. 22 to Jun. 24 at the Post on Strongsville Blvd. The sale will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Proceeds from the sale will be used to help local veterans. Everyone is welcome to attend and the sale will offer a large variety of items. (City of Strongsville)
