  1. Cuyahoga Soil & Water District has named Strongsville's Jennifer Milbrandt the Conservationist of the Year. Milbrandt is the city's coordinator of natural resources. She has been recognized for her extensive knowledge of local forestry, her dedication, and her preservation work. She was presented with the award on Nov. 10 during a ceremony. (City of Strongsville)
  2. Strongsville's Winter Wonderland Lighting Celebration is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 20, at 5:30 p.m. The celebration will be at the corner of Pearl and Royalton roads on the Commons. There will be a holiday fireworks show, Santa visits, and a Holiday Lights Trolley. The Celebration Ringers handbell choir will be performing near the city's gazebo after the fireworks display.   3. The Cuyahoga County Jail has taken action to fix an inmate clothing issue. A Cleveland.com story revealed inmates were sitting in their underwear while their single uniform pair was being washed. Jail supervisors have instructed corrections officers to search cells for any extra clothing and blankets to redistribute them to inmates that only had one pair. The jail has also placed a large order for new uniforms. The efforts are to ensure that all inmates have two full sets of uniforms. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
