Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:
- Cuyahoga County has joined several cities and counties in suing opioid manufacturers, distributors, pharmacies, and others responsible for the painkiller epidemic that has devastated communities across the U.S. The lawsuit has been filed in federal court and targets companies that made, marketed, and sold prescription opioids, including pharmacy benefit managers. The allegations in the lawsuit state that companies pushed opioids in part through deceptive marketing, putting their desire for profits above the health and well-being of consumers at the cost of plaintiffs. - Animal Control Officer Chuck McCleary advises people to leave foxes alone if they spot them in their yard during the beginning of spring. Fox sightings are more common during this time of year due to denning season, and a mother fox will give birth to kits and choose a den site close to people to deter coyotes. It's important not to call a service to "relocate" the foxes since it will often get them killed, and seeing a fox during the day does not mean it is rabid. (Cleveland 19 News)
- Chipotle is opening a new location with a drive-thru pickup lane in Strongsville on Mar. 23. The new restaurant will replace the chain's location across the street at SouthPark Mall. Guests can try the new chicken al pastor, which is among the fastest-growing Mexican dishes, both at the new location and at other Chipotle locations. (cleveland.com)
