I-480 Construction: Roadwork That Could Impact Upcoming Plans

The Ohio Department of Transportation has plans to update highways on Cuyahoga County's west side in coming weeks.

INDEPENDENCE, OH — Two major ODOT projects on Cuyahoga County's west side will move into new phases in coming days.

The I-480 Valley View bridge deck replacement will mess with ramps from I-77 and I-480, which could require you to adjust your travel plans. There will also be noise wall repairs throughout the county.

  • I-77 northbound between Wallings Rd. and Pleasant Valley Rd. will have a right lane closure on Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for noise wall repairs.
  • I-77 north and south ramps to I-480 east will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
    • Detour will be I-480 west to State Road to I-480 east.
  • I-480 east to Transportation Boulevard will be closed on Wednesday, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday.
  • I-480 east, between Valley View bridge between I-77 and Transportation Boulevard, will be reduced to one lane on Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. and continuing through 6 a.m. Thursday.
    • Detour will be I-480 eastbound to Granger Rd. to I-480 westbound to Transportation Blvd.
