Cleveland’s Favorite Chefs.  Wednesday, May 1st at 7:00 p.m.

Maria Isabella is the author of In the Kitchen with Cleveland’s Favorite Chefs, an inside look at the private kitchens of 35 local culinary greats including Michael Symon and Jonathon Sawyer. Maria posed the challenge for each chef to share their favorite dishes for entertaining friends and family that could be prepared in under an hour. Join us as Maria showcases some of the recipes and tips straight from the chefs themselves. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Year-Round Story Times!
Cuyahoga County Public Library offers story time sessions year-round for children Birth to Grade 2.  Our current story time sessions are on hiatus for the month of May.  We will be back in full swing in June!  Please call the library for more information.

Cleveland Play House provides the party favors for this celebration of the premieres, prize-winners, and re-imagined classics you can look forward to in our 2013-14 season! Young at Heart Book Discussion.  Tuesday, May 7th at 7:00 p.m. 

A book club for adults who love Children’s and teens books.  Meets the first Tuesday evening of every month.  Please register in person to pick up a copy of the book.  Our next discussion will be on the book Okay for Now by Gary D. Schmidt. 

Author Event with Nivi Engineer.  Tuesday, May 7th at 7:00 p.m.

Join us for this special presentation with local author, Nivi Engineer. She will share information about her new book The Indian Girl's Definitive Guide to Staying Single. Copies of the book will be available for sale and a signing will be held at the end of the presentation.

Fancy Nancy Evening Tea. Young Ladies Ages 4 – 8 with their Mother/Caregiver.   Wednesday, May 8th from 6:45 – 8:00 p.m. 

Moms and daughters, you are invited to a Fancy Nancy evening tea. Young ladies 4-8 and their moms come dressed to the nines in your tiaras, boas and heels! Refreshments and fun are guaranteed!  Registration begins on Friday, April 19th.

Zentangle 102: Beyond the Basics.  Monday, May 13th at 7:00 p.m. 

Have you attended a basic Art of Zentangle class at the library? Are you ready to learn new strings and tangles? Join Cathy Zavodny and Michelle Rodgers as they teach us new ideas for strings and they will be teaching more official tangles to add to your artwork. Please bring a sketchbook, notebook or paper for you to draw on and have a reference of tangles to take home with you. You will also receive a “tile” that you will create using the tangles you learned during class.

How to Stay Young the First 100 Years: Good Morning, Strongsville Speaker Series.  Wednesday, May 15th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Please join us for our bi-monthly Good Morning, Strongsville Speaker Series as a representative from Maximum Potential Chiropractic, shares knowledge with us on how to stay young the first 100 years. This is a great program for seniors and older adults.

Join us for our coupon swap club and share your passion for saving with other like-minded shoppers!  Bring your scissors, and your stockpile of manufacturer coupons to share.  Share what you don't want and hopefully leave with more coupons that you really need!  This is the place to trade coupons, spend time with other coupon lovers, and share stories of great deals! 

Dance Knight!  Ages 12 – 18.  Tuesday, May 21st from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Do you like to dance? Join us for an afternoon/evening of fun as we play Just Dance 3, make duct tape flip flops, take part in an online scavenger hunt, and maybe even learn something about the Brothers of the Knight and the Harlem Renaissance!

 Memory Screening.  Wednesday, May 22nd from 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Come to a free screening by the Community Nurses of Southwest General to see if you should consider seeing a doctor.   Registration is required. Explore the French culture in a casual and entertaining way. Discover the diversity of French gastronomy and its most famous traditional dishes. Learn more about the French diet and how the French really eat nowadays. 

Build Your Brain Summer Reading Kick-off Event.  Saturday, June 1stfrom 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Help us kick-off the 2013 Summer Reading Program with this special open house for the whole family to enjoy. The reading program runs from June 1st – August 3rd. Guests of all ages are invited to stop by to register for the Summer Reading game, enjoy refreshments, entertainment by School of Rock’s All Star Band The Headliners, balloon animals by Magic Bob and more! No registration needed.
