The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A man reported April 20 that he found a bone in the Cleveland Metroparks -- and he believes it is from a human.

Detective Lt. John Janowski said Wednesday that the department had not yet had an expert examine the bone.

"It was a femur," Janowski said. "But from an emu."

Woman Wheels Out Stolen Goods

Walmart reported April 21 that a woman had walked out of the store with three shopping carts full of merchandise totaling $2,000 to $5,000.

The store asked police to hold off on any action until it could look into identifying the woman.

A report said the suspect used a driver's license to return items to the store that day.

Man Sleeping in Carports?

Employees at Royalton Greens said they spotted a man sleeping in the carports April 19.

The man, who is from Texas, told police his mother lives in the apartments and was there to visit her.

He denied sleeping in the carport, and no food or belongings were found there, a report said.

But the man's mother told police that she would not give her son her apartment number.

Officers warned the man that if he is going to stay at the complex, he has to be inside a unit. If he is found in the carports again, he will be cited for trespassing, the report said.

Dire Straits

A man went to the customer service desk at Walmart April 19 and asked them to call police because his life was in danger.

Officers found the threat was a little less dramatic than that -- in fact, there did not appear to be any actual threat.

The man wanted to sit in the police station lobby to charge his phone and call for a ride. The man was able to reach his sister, a report said.
