Man Pounds on Window, Tries to Get in House: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

Prospect Road residents called police shortly before noon Aug. 30 after a man pounded on their picture window, then tried to open the door.

A report said the man, who appeared to be in his 60s and was wearing a brown checked shirt, first pounded on the picture window.

He then tried to open the front door, then walked around the house and looked in the dining room window.

He left in a vehicle that was parked in a nearby plaza.

Police looked for the vehicle, but couldn't spot it in the area.

Car Deal Goes from Bad to Worse

A man told police he bought a 2001 Ford from a friend, but it broke down when he drove it to Home Depot Aug. 31.

He called for a tow, and left the doors unlocked and the keys in it, at the truck driver's instruction.

But when he went back, the car was gone. It had not been towed, a report said.

Was it Dixie?

A Westwood Road resident told police she was home along about 9 p.m. Aug. 31 and heard someone whistling, possibly from her back yards.

She was afraid to check, a report said.

Police did it for her, and found no one in the area.

Drive-Through Worries

An employee at Wendy's alerted police after after a suspicious truck went through the drive-through about 6 p.m. Aug. 30.

A report said a small child was sitting unsecured on the passenger's lap, and the driver smelled like an alcoholic beverage.

Police couldn't find the vehicle, but asked Brunswick police to be on the lookout.
