Many Noises in the Night, and None are Good: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A resident on Summer Place Drive heard something hit her door -- loudly -- about 11:15 p.m. June 28, but when she looked outside, she didn't see anything unusual.

Police couldn't find anything out of the ordinary, either, and nothing was damaged.

A half hour later, someone on Polo Club Drive reported hearing a woman scream for three minutes straight somewhere in the complex.

Police couldn't locate any women in distress.

Other Unwelcome Noises

Residents in two neighborhoods complained early June 30 about loud parties.

An anonymous caller on Blue Spruce said a party on Ellswowrth Drive was so loud, she could hear everything plainly.

Police found a birthday party that was winding down. They were warned.

A loud graduation party was reported about 1 a.m. on Mallard Circle. Police told the host to turn down the music and have guests move all the cars that were parked illegally.

Trouble at the Bank?

An employee at First Merit Bank on Pearl Road called police June 28 after noting a suspicious situation: The manager was in her office with the door closed. She looked nervous, and motioned for the employee to call the police.

The trouble: an obscene phone call. Police took a report.

Not Sure He Should Be Driving

A witness became alarmed after seeing people wheeling an older man to his car in an office chair on Pearl Road about 10:45 a.m. June 28.

The witness wondered how the man could drive if he was unable to walk to his car.

The man and car were gone when police arrived.

Not Missing

Concerned parents called police June 29 when they found their son's car in a Pearl Road parking lot, but he didn't show up for work.

Further investigation showed the son had packed clothes, and police found he had taken a cab to the airport.

It appears he left of his own accord. The parents said he may have joined the military but didn't tell them because they were opposed to it.
