• Strongsville superintendent: Student removed after bringing gun into high school on Friday (wkyc.com) — A Strongsville High School student was removed from the building Friday after administrators discovered a gun, ammunition, and an airsoft gun that had been inside the school for about 20 minutes. Strongsville Police are now leading a criminal investigation, and district leaders say safety protocols and quick reporting helped contain the situation while counseling and anonymous reporting options remain available to students.

• Berea man who killed teen almost 40 years ago dies in prison (news5cleveland.com) — Residents may remember the 1986 killing of 13-year-old Robyn Star Field, whose body was found in Strongsville’s Mill Stream Reservation. State officials now confirm that Warren Paxton Brown, the Berea man convicted in her death and repeatedly denied parole, has died in prison, closing a decades-long chapter for the victim’s family.
