Plan Unveiled For Strongsville Town Center
Strongsville officials are trying to secure $3 million in grants to pay for the project.
STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville leaders unveiled their $3 million plan to enhance Strongsville Town Center last week.
Should the plan be actualized, residents would see a new interactive fountain and splash pad, a new pavilion, and a new community playground added west of the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center. The property also includes the Strongsville Commons, Strongsville Library and Castletown Playground.
Mayor Tom Perciak said officials will attempt to secure grants to cover the lion's share of the project's costs.

Strongsville also conducted a survey of approximately 1,000 residents, gathering input on what they wanted to see from a revamped Strongsville Town Center. The playground and splash pad were two of the top three amenities recommended by residents. A new outdoor pool received the most votes.

- A fully ADA-compliant playground to accommodate children with disabilities. The city estimates the cost for the playground to be $600,000.
- A community pavilion and meeting space with a fireplace. The city estimates the cost to be $500,000.
- Five family restrooms with ADA accommodations. City's estimated cost: $490,000.
- A water feature for children, but the design has not yet been determined. City's estimated cost: between $550,000 and $800,000.
- A new staging area for food trucks, farmers markets, and other community events would include a fenced-in space for movie nights. Road access would also be redesigned.
- Crews would also upgrade existing walkways and trails and complete the trailhead north of the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center. Signage around Town Center would be upgraded.
- A new entryway to Zverina Drive would be built, with better access to a roundabout, a new paved parking lot next to the Strongsville Food Bank, new walkways and a gateway monument sign. City's estimated cost: $325,000.
