Police Blotter: 2 Weird Visits; Not-So-Good Samaritan

A West 130th Street woman was awakened March 8 by someone pounding on her door.

When she opened it, a man handed her a not that said, "Hello, my name is Denny" with a phone number.

Police called the number and got the voice mail of someone named Dennis.

They told the woman although it was odd, no crime was committed.

Weird Visit 2

A teenager knocked on a Drake Road door about 7:30 p.m. March 9 and asked to use the bathroom, a woman reported.

When she went to get her husband, the teen fled. She saw him running toward Pearl Road with another boy.

A woman who reported her cell phone stolen from Starbucks got it back, but not entirely.

A report said a man dropped off the phone at the Berea police station, saying he had picked it up from the counter at Starbucks by mistake, thinking it belonged to one of his kids.

The woman was grateful -- until she realized the SIM card was missing from the phone. 

Do Not Call

A Blazey Trail resident asked police for help after receiving at least 25 calls in three days from a 917 area code.

The man said he asked the callers numerous times to stop, but they won't. When he calls back, it says the number is restricted.
