- Cuyahoga County residents will now be able to renew their SNAP benefits online or through the mail instead of using a call center for at least the next six months. The decision comes after Cuyahoga County’s eligibility contact center received more than 96,000 calls in December from people seeking assistance with benefit programs. SNAP recipients will now receive a 7204 Redetermination form in the mail, and those interested in applying can fill in the form at benefits.ohio.gov, email a filled-out form to CJFSDocs@jfs.ohio.gov, mail the form to the county, or take it to the nearest drop box. (Cleveland.com)
- Three men and one business were charged with illegally owning and operating cryptocurrency ATMs across Northeast Ohio, including in Cuyahoga County. Officials say Sonny Meraban, Reza Meraban, and William Suriano were all charged for operating S and P Solutions as Bitcoin of America. The three men were indicted for the following charges: money laundering, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, receiving stolen property, and license requirement violation. (Cleveland 19)
