  1. The tobogganing season is open at The Chalet. Located at the Mill Stream Run Reservation, this is a great way for the whole family to relax and enjoy some outdoor winter fun. Visitors can slide down 700-foot refrigerated ice shoots at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. The Chalet's toboggan season will run through the last weekend of February 2023. (Spectrum News 1)
  2. On Wednesday, the Ohio State Senate voted down legislation that would lengthen the minimum required prison sentence for people convicted of killing an EMS worker or firefighter while driving. This decision comes just a few weeks after a Cleveland firefighter was killed by an allegedly drunk driver in a hit-and-run. It is possible that there could be a negotiation session with the Ohio House at some point that would revisit the legislation. Under current Ohio law, a person convicted of aggravated vehicular homicide while under the influence will end up with a mandatory minimum sentence anywhere between two and eight years. 3. Ready to make something magical this holiday season? The Young Chefs Academy is inviting kids to make the gingerbread houses of their dreams. There will be tutorials, handy tips, and the opportunity to make your own custom gingerbread house. The next session will be on Dec. 17. (AllEvents)
