Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:

  1. If you missed the regularly scheduled City of Strongville Council Meeting yesterday, Feb. 21, you can check out the replay of the entire meeting here. The next meeting will be held on Monday, Mar. 6 at the Strongsville Police Station on Royalton Road. The meeting will begin promptly at 8:00 p.m. in the Mike Kalinich Sr. Council Chamber. (The City of Strongsville)
  2. According to the recently published Strongsville Police Blotter, a resident on Drake Road kept hearing suspicious knocking on Feb. 3. The resident told the responding police officer that someone had banged on their door and ran off and that this was not the first time this occurred that week. The officer advised the woman to have her husband return home (who was out searching for the culprits). There are currently no suspects, and the investigation is ongoing. 3. Ohio lawmakers have proposed a revised version of the state's two-year transportation budget bill that includes provisions to allocate $1 billion for rural highways, ban traffic-camera programs in counties or townships, and block Cleveland's plan to build bike lanes on Superior Avenue. The bill, which must be passed by Mar. 31, also allows state residents to use their "Real ID" driver's licenses or ID cards to enter neighboring countries instead of a passport. This would not be the first time the transportation budget funds would be used to change state policy. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
