Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:
- An alleged assault occurred at the Strongsville Recreation center on Jan. 9. Police spoke with the victim who says he was punched in the face by another gym member after an argument during a basketball game. The victim said he did not want to press charges. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
- The Strongsville City Council rezoned a half-empty multi-tenant office building on Ohio 82 to a "general business" district in November 2022. The two-and-a-half-acre building across from SouthPark Mall was initially zoned as "public facilities" and houses Quick Med Urgent Care and Northeast Ohio Business Center. Owner Jason Sheiban is hopeful the new zoning will make the open space in the building easier to market going forward. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
- Strongsville residents have until Jan. 31 to obtain a 2023 license for their dog. Not only is having a license for your dog the law in Cuyahoga County, but it can also help get your dog home if they are ever lost. Dog licenses can be purchased at Strongsville's Discount Drug Mart locations or online here. (The City of Strongsville)
