UPDATE: Substitute Teacher Accused of Harassing Female Student

Incident was not criminal and there will be no police investigation, chief says

The Strongsville Police Department received a report of a substitute teacher allegedly harassing a female student at Strongsville High School Wednesday.

The complaint referred to a possible inappropriate conversation between the sub and student.

Police Chief James Kobak said police documented the complaint and passed it along to the school district, which may investigate it internally.

Kobak said there was nothing criminal about the alleged remarks, "just what they felt was inappropriate behavior."

Strongsville teachers are in their sixth week of a strike that forced the district to hire more than 250 substitute teachers to oversee classes.
